Google Analytics. Your new Best Friend?

Updated: Dec 7, 2020

Google can’t give you super powers, but when it comes to managing your website and business it tries to give you the next best thing – Google Analytics

Superman had X Ray vision, Google Analytics gives you the digital equivalent. The ability to see inside your website and see how it’s working and more specifically what’s working.

Future articles here will cover some of it’s features in more depth but the ability to see where your traffic is coming from (geography, types of referring websites, and lots more insights), and how it interacts with your site (e.g. how long people stay on your website, which pages see the heaviest traffic, their journey through your website, where they leave your website) gives you information you can work with to drive traffic, improve conversion, and lots more.

This ability to test and measure hypotheses and changes is priceless. And in the case of Google Analytics it actually is.

Signing up for Google Analytics is totally free, so it should be the first thing you do when you’ve created your new website. If nothing else so you’re building a picture of website performance from the very start of your journey and accumulating as much data as possible.

Here’s a link in case you need it - https://analytics.google.com - sign up if you haven’t already and make Google your digital BFF (best friend forever in case you were wondering).
